Wilderness Pharmacology

Step into the wild side of pharmacology. This engaging session explores key medication concepts through a wilderness medicine lens - from how drugs move through the body (pharmacokinetics) to how environmental factors like altitude, heat, and cold can change the way they work. Nancy will cover the medications most used in remote settings, practical routes of administration when resources are limited, and how to build a smart, effective medical kit. You’ll also gain clarity on scope-of-practice considerations for medication use in the field, helping you make confident, informed decisions when it matters most.
