ISTM Certificate in Travel Health®

Andrea graduated from the University of Padua (Italy) in 1994. After completing postgraduate training in Internal Medicine, he focused his interest on travel medicine, studying in London and Basel. He earned his ISTM Certificate in Travel Health® in 2003, the Diploma in Travel Medicine at the RCPS(Glasg) in 2006, and was awarded Fellowship of the Faculty of Travel Medicine in 2011. Andrea was also part of  the first cohort to receive the International Diploma in Expedition and Wilderness Medicine and has been admitted to the Academy of Clinical Educators of the RCPS(Glasg). He is a Fellow of both the International Society of Travel Medicine and the Academy of Wilderness Medicine.
In Italy, Andrea serves as vice president of the Italian Society of Travel Medicine. He teaches a
residential course on travel medicine for healthcare workers and a “Basic Course in Expedition
and Wilderness Medicine” for medical students. His interests span a wide range, including pre-travel consultation, vaccine-preventable diseases, malaria prevention, marine and terrestrial envenomations, evaluation of returning travellers, mountain medicine and exposure to temperature extremes, and the practical development of essential non-technical skills in the wilderness.
