Course Description
This intensive pre-conference is one of the required courses for the DiMM program and is intended as continuing education for doctors, nurses, and paramedics who work in or aspire to work in austere mountain environments. The required coursework is an ideal blend of didactic and practical education in wilderness medicine, technical rescue, and self-sufficiency in the backcountry.  This skill set crosses a multitude of disciplines including expedition medicine, search and rescue operations, mountain guiding, ski patrol, and mountain recreationalists.   

Insurance and Cancellation/Refund Policy
All participants are required to carry evacuation and medical insurance coverage (we suggest Global Rescue) as well as trip interruption/cancellation insurance (we suggest IMG through Global Rescue). Cancellation prior to 60 days before the session begins will result in a 50% refund. No refund if cancelling within 60 days.

** WMS does not provide transportation. You may want to carpool with other people attending the program. We can put attendees in touch with each other but it is your responsibility to decide if you are safe to ride with anyone else. WMS does not vet drivers, ask for their insurance, or do driving records check.
