Diving Medicine Session

Join us for the WMS Diving Medicine Session aboard the Nautilus Belle Amie sailing from La Paz, Mexico. The six-day session on the Sea of Cortez will focus on diving medicine, evaluation/treatment of the injured diver, prevention of dive injuries, medical fitness to dive, and the physics/physiology of depth.

Who

The target audience includes physicians, nurses, other health care professionals, and mariners. The conference is intended as continuing education for medical providers who work in or aspire to work in austere environments. The required coursework is an ideal blend of didactic and practical education in wilderness medicine, diving and marine medicine, water rescue, and self-sufficiency at sea. This skill set crosses a multitude of disciplines including hyperbaric and diving medicine, marine science, expedition medicine, search and rescue at sea, and ocean recreation.  
*All participants must hold current open water certification (SSI, PADI, NAUI, SDI)

What

This session is designed to fulfill the Dive Medicine requirement of the Diploma in Diving and Marine Medicine (DiDMM).
