The Wilderness Medical Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Objectives
After attending this activity, the participants will be able to:

-Understand the limitations of practicing medicine in austere environments.
-Adequately prepare for practicing medicine in austere environments.
-Recognize and treat common injuries and illnesses that occur in the wilderness.

Target Audience

  • Medical professionals who have an interest in providing medical care in “remote” environments such as wilderness settings or in developing countries are encouraged to attend. 
  • Medical professionals counseling their patients traveling to remote areas will benefit as well.
