Lawrence LeBlond, MD, FAWM

Dr. Lawrence LeBlond is board certified in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine, completing a residency at UTHSC where he was a chief resident and a fellowship in emergency medicine. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee, Adjunct Clinical Faculty with Christian Brothers University and Lincoln Memorial University, and instructor with the Memphis Fire Department. He is currently the faculty advisor for the University of Tennessee’s Wilderness, Austere, and Remote Medicine Student Interest Group. Dr. LeBlond was a WEMT, working for the State YMCA of Michigan in multiple positions including health officer and medical trainer from 1997-2007, and has been on their Program Committee. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine and has served on the Wilderness Medical Society’s CME Committee since 2012 becoming Chair in 2020, the Academy Oversight Committee since 2015 becoming Chair in 2023, and Member of the GME Fellowship Certification Workgroup. He is a member of the American Board of Physician Specialist’s Board Certification in Emergency Medicine’s Emergency Medicine Written Exam Committee and American Academy of Emergency Physician's Executive Committee. He has been sailing and SCUBA diving in all 4 oceans, the Great Lakes, Caribbean Sea, English Channel and the North Sea, and hiking the Georgia section of the Appalachian Trail, the New Mexico section of the Continental Divide, Isle Royals National Park, Frans Josef and Fox Glaciers in New Zealand as well as other multi-day to month-long hikes around the world.

Currently Lawrence enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, mostly his wife and kids.

 
 

Chance Sullivan, MD, FAWM, DiMM

Dr. Chance Sullivan completed his wilderness medicine fellowship at the University of Vermont, where he continues to practice emergency medicine and instruct wilderness medicine courses. Prior to medical school, he served as a backcountry guide in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. He has spent the past two summers as an expedition physician in Alaska for the Juneau Icefields Research Program and also spent a month working at the medical clinic in Argentina on Aconcagua, the highest peak outside the Himalayas. He currently volunteers as a search and rescue physician in Vermont, and in his free time he enjoys backcountry skiing, rock climbing, and gravel biking.
   

Jeena Fuller, PA, FAWM

Born and raised in Winter Park, Colorado, Jeena attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs for her undergraduate studies. During these years she became an EMT and volunteered with an SAR team. After graduation, she worked as a fisheries biologist for NOAA in the Bering Sea and Northern Atlantic Ocean. It was during this time that Jeena decided to pursue medicine, and went back into first response as a firefighter and an EMT. She further continued her education with a Master of Science in Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics at Oakland University and a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Yale School of Medicine. During her time at Yale, she met her mentor, Mary Showstark, who helped her start a WMS student interest group and, ultimately, the Wild Med Wednesday speaker series which provides free FAWM credit to students and residents. When not working, she enjoys mountain biking, skiing, running and climbing with her husband, three dogs, and their newest edition- a six month old baby boy.
