Featured SIG: Jefferson Wilderness and Disaster Medicine Society (October 2009)

The Jefferson Wilderness and Disaster Medicine Society is in its second year as a WMS SIG. In addition to numerous lectures throughout the year on wilderness medicine the group has organized a few hikes with medical scenarios. The SIG put on a moulage class and helped with the 500 victim MCI at Jefferson. This April the group will be hosting the Mid-Atlantic Student Wilderness Medicine Conference at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.

Here are some pics from their recent moulage course.

Conference Event Planning Guide: This document was written by students at the University of North Carolina, on their experiences in organizing and running a Wilderness Medicine seminar. It is a superb resource that provides a vast amount of useful information.

In the past, powerpoint lectures were available for loan to SIGs. The WMS lecture series is currently being updated and we will try to make them available in the near future. Thank you for your patience.
