Committees
There are six student
committees: Leadership, Membership, Electives, Website, SIGs and
newsletter. The chairpersons from each committee form the SIG
Leadership Committee. If you would like to get involved, please
read the committee descriptions below and contact the respective chairperson at the
email address listed. To volunteer to be a chairperson, please email
the WMS
Student Representative.
Leadership
This leadership committee includes the WMS Student Representative, Associate Representative, and the all committee chairpersons. The responsibility of the leadership committee is to foresee all of the student committees and projects, to respond to medical students interested in the field of wilderness medicine, and to manage all of the national and international student interest groups for the WMS.

Answer emails about how to start a SIG.
Work with membership to create clear criteria on what defines a SIG vs
student membership. Contribute info about SIGs and their activities to
the newsletter committee.

Newsletter
Create a quarterly newsletter with
topics such as cool outdoor gadgets, new research, and a featured SIG
to be
distributed via email to all student members. Encourage student
