MedWAR Adventure Race (in conjunction with Park City Winter Meeting)

The popular MedWAR adventure race will take place on February 20th near Park City, Utah in the Wasatch National Forest. There are three members per team and the fee is $50.00 per team member. A maximum of ten teams can enter. Registration information and more details about the race are provided on the website.

3rd Annual Southeastern ACWM Student Wilderness Medicine Conference 
March 06-07, 2010

3rd Annual Southeastern ACWM Student Wilderness Medicine Conference, sponsored by the Appalachian Center for Wilderness Medicine (ACWM). Saturday’s schedule will include morning didactic sessions and afternoon educational workshops at the MCG campus. Instructional courses and activities will focus on the skills necessary to practice medicine in situations removed from immediate help, technology, and easy transport. Sunday’s schedule will focus on outdoor scenarios and simulations. An orienteering course will be established wherein participants will encounter multiple (simulated) wilderness medicine cases and/or situations. Registration to open January 15th, 2010. Mid-Atlantic Student Wilderness Medicine Conference 
Apr 10-11, 2010

The two-day conference will consist of lectures and workshops lead by nationally recognized physicians and experts on a variety of topics. Demonstrations featuring some of the latest technology being used in the field will also be offered. Students are invited to submit abstracts from their own research in wilderness or disaster medicine for poster presentations. Find out more online.

Madigan Army Medical Center
Sept 02-29, 2010

3 week rotation held at MAMC with trips to Mt. Ranier and optional 4th week NOLS field experience in the Olympic Mountains. Includes AWLS certification, multiple hands-on scenarios, practical skills, simulation medicine, and field trips. Elective Director: MAJ David Hile, MD.
