Tactical Combat Casualty Care for the Wilderness Provider
Saturday, July 24, 2010
Fee: $150
The wilderness provider has similar medical care challenges as confronted by military personnel, for example, austere environments, limited resources, manpower and delayed evacuation. This 1-day course will cover the essential tactical combat casualty care (TCCC) medical guidelines as developed by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Defense Health Board, and Department of Defense. These TCCC guidelines have been adopted by civilian law enforcement tactical teams and are endorsed by the Committee on Trauma, America College of Surgeons, and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.
These evidence-based TCCC guidelines also can be applied by the wilderness provider for numerous casualties. This course will compose of PowerPoint presentations, TCCC skills, and scenario based training. This course is geared towards those who have a foundation of prehospital and wilderness medicine trauma skills.
