Wilderness and Mountain Medicine
18th Annual WMS Winter Meeting of the Wilderness Medical Society
A PERSONAL MESSAGE
WMS Members, Colleagues and Friends…
We invite you to join us in February at the WMS Winter Meeting: Wilderness and Mountain Medicine. This is not your typical wilderness medicine ski conference. It is first and foremost about mountain medicine, wilderness education and Fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine. What could be better than a unique winter mountain meeting where you can learn, earn CME and FAWM credits, ski, snowmobile, snowboard and snowshoe in beautiful Park City, Utah!
This year’s winter meeting will provide the most up-to-date information in the fields of avalanche medicine, hypothermia and cold injuries, high altitude illnesses, expedition and travel medicine, and more. We have assembled the world’s leading experts in mountain and wilderness medicine to teach the core curriculum. Two intensive, experiential pre-conferences are being offered – Advanced Wilderness Life Support and Level 1 Avalanche Course along with a MedWAR session. During the conference, the optional workshops will provide you with necessary skills to survive in winter conditions as well as to manage common wilderness and winter emergencies. Then, as a post-conference event, a Level 2 Avalanche Course is being offered. And, of course, the evening presentations will enlighten, inspire and entertain you.
Whether you are a family practitioner advising patients, an accomplished expedition doctor or just beginning to gain an interest in wilderness medicine, the WMS Winter Meeting provides an exceptional opportunity for you to sharpen your knowledge and skills as well as form new and lasting friendships. We hope you will join us this February in Utah and experience the “Greatest Snow on Earth!”
